AGS and ADGA registered
Ranjit (aka Randy) joined us for the Fall 2012 breeding season, and we were delighted to add his strong dairy genetics (his dam was an AGS Top Ten Producer in her first freshening) to our breeding program. We retained a number of doelings and an outstanding buckling (Took a Leap Right Back Atcha) from Randy’s 2013 progeny, and we’ve bred seven of our does to him for 2014 kids.
With great sadness, we lost Randy in November 2013 as a result of chronic copper toxicity, which we believe (after extensive testing to eliminate other causes) was caused by ingestion of lupine or another hepatotoxic alkaloid plant.
We’re very thankful to Willow Moon Farm for allowing us add Randy to our herd, even if it was only for a short time. We’re hopeful that, given the quality of our 2013 kids and those that will arrive in 2014, Randy’s impact on our herd will be felt for a long time to come.
